New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame 55th Annual Induction & Award Ceremonies – Photos taken by Ray Bailey

Approximately 500 boxing fans and family members filled the Venetian in Garfield on Thursday, November 13th, for the 55th Annual Induction and Award Ceremonies for the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame!

We thank Charlie Norkus Jr., for once again donating 2 FULL tables to the New Jersey Diamond Glove Champions. He has been doing this since 2011, as every New Jersey Diamond Glove Elite Champion receives 2 PAID for tickets each. He says he does it because his father would want too!

As you might know, his father Charlie Norkus Sr., was a top 10 rated heavyweight back in the mid-1950’s, who fought and beat such standouts as Charle Powell, Roland LaStarza and Danny Nardico twice. If you want to see a great fight, just watch their first fight, it was a real classic. He also fought such Greats as Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles, Willie Pastrano and Tommy Jackson.

We want to thank the Committee that worked the event, including John Poturaj, Robert O’Connell and my grandson, Jacob Fogge, along with his friend David, who both worked the door, checking people in.

We also thank Ricardo Salazar for the beautiful AD Journal, Ray Bailey, for taking photos during the night, PLUS Deborah Willis, who sang the National Anthem.
.

We thank our Commissioner, Larry Hazzard, who adds so much to our event, along with Jackie Atkins and Samad Haq, for all the work they do!

We also want to thank the IBF for donating the Step and Repeat Banner, that is shown in the background of all the photos of the honorees!!! A special thank you to Ricardo & Jeanette Salazar for making this happened.

Finally, we want to thank all those who took the time out to attend the event.
