PAT FRANCO

Pat Franco - PicturePat Franco, long time Miami resident, born in Newark, New Jersey, will be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame on November 11, 1988 along with Lou Duva, noted Trainer and Manager. Pat boxed as a lightweight, had seventeen amateur bouts while in Montclair High School, winning several titles losing only to Charlie Williams, State Champion. Pat also played Center Forward on the Montclair Soccer Team, making AllState on the Newark Star Ledger and Coaches Team in 1939 and 1940. In his junior year of high school, Pat turned professional losing out on a Soccer Scholarship. As a professional boxer, Pat had over fifty bouts losing only three over a ten year period. He still loves the sport and is active in Local and National Shows. He is President of Ring #7 in Miami, Florida, a local boxing club which is a charitable organization that raises monies for boxers in need.
