MICKEY TERRY

MICKEY TERRYMickey Terry was born on June 10, 1908. He turned professional at the age of 15 and had a very successful boxing career over a span of nine years. He was known as “The Bound Brook Boxer” coming from Bound Brook, New Jersey. He was also known as the “Punchin’ Poem,” for his quickness and powerful punches. He was one of the hardest punchers in New Jersey boxing history. His most successful year was 1928 when he won 16 of 17 bouts with 10 knockouts. Many of his opponents were notable in their own right. Mickey died on April 4, 1996 in Staten Island, New York, at the age of 87.
