Inducted on September 22, 1974

Top ranking welter and middleweight contender, facing such greats as Barney Ross, Ceferino Garcia, Benny Levine, and Young Terry. Had 90 bouts. Was New Jersey Welterweight Champion in 1932, Newark’s pride and joy. Was President of Halper Brothers Paper Co. Died January 1, 1973.

As a professional boxer Halper fought in every division from flyweight to middleweight. In the beginning of his career Halper was managed by Patsy Kline noted ex-fighter. Halper was ranked as the number 10 middleweight in the world for January and February 1935 by Ring magazine.
