Was born in Lumberton, N. C. but spent the last 27 years of his life in Peterson. N.J. He was a leading contender for the Middleweight Championship in the lore 40’s and early 50’s, having boxed Jake La Motta, Tiger Jones and Billy Fox and just about every 160 pounder around.
He died at 44 years
