“Battling Jimmy” as he was known around all the rings in New Jersey, New York, Penna., etc. was one of the best lightweights to come out of the “Down Neck” section of Newark, N.J.
He boxed them all and that included every prominent lightweight around. He was the winner in over 90% of his encounters.
